March comes late

Have been working on the photo blog. Two posts in, third on the way... it's looking good so far.

Most recent music writing is this review of... christ I've forgotten their name already... Black Daniel.

Cat on the keyboard. Sorry.

Working on a review of the Jawbox album For Your Own Special Sweetheart. It's going to be positive. Very positive.

Satchel are BACK

Finally back on the road, Satchel seem to have been a little rusty (note the count ins), but damn, they sound absolutely fantastic. UK Date... come on!

Mascis and Martsch - Together at last?

A thing that guitar solo loving indie nerds the world over have openly wept at the thought that it might one day possibly happen IS happening. ATP are putting this on.

ARTIST: Dinosaur Jr
SUPPORT ACTS: Built To Spill
VENUE: Shepherds Bush Empire
DATES: Tuesday 18th May 2010
TICKET PRICE : £20.00, plus booking, I imagine. On sale this Friday.

With both of them onstage, it could be like this, but only better. Won't someone get them two boys onstage together? And while we're on wish fulfillment, shouldn't Fender have given Martsch the sig by now? I feel a petition brewing...

Why did no-one tell me Sade had come back?

There are little riffy bit towards the end, which reminded me of the Airbus Reconstruction that Portishead did. I've just relistened to that b-side nugget, and it's aged something awful. That said, a Sade Adu vocal with Massive Attack or Portishead providing a backing would surely equal solid gold. I'm just saying.

Citay - Dream Get Together

Decent effort from the San Fran studio band. Apparently they're going to tour it. Best of luck with that.

One Hundredth Post

And it's nothing but a NIN video fest. A version of Bela Lugosi's Dead from Murphy, Reznor, and TVOTR and a cracking HD version of 999,999/1,000,000 from the free This One Is On Us Tour DVD.

David Bazan - Curse Your Branches

Average review of a really good album. The last sentence is un-wonderful. Bonus points for noticing spelling mistakes and bad grammar.

Going to see him at the Borderline for the photo column tha's starting to seem like the nuclear threat. Often talked about, but very rarely seen.
